Getting Around

Melbourne's public transport network

Melbourne has a huge public transport network so you can get anywhere you need to go by either train, tram or bus.

For all travel in Victoria, a myki card is required. Purchase and top up your myki at any train station or 7Eleven. Simply tap on with your myki each time you use any form of public transport.

Transport Options

Use Melbourne's extensive train network to get further afield and explore Melbourne's outer suburbs.

Use the trams to get around the inner city and nearby suburbs. There is a free tram zone in the city centre where a myki is not required, look out for the 'free tram zone' signs.

Travelling between suburbs often requires the use of a local bus to avoid having to go into the city and back out again. Don't worry, they are as regular as trains.
